Parents Matter

Parents are responsible for monitoring their children. Regulation of library materials removes parental responsibility. Parents Matter. What is profane to one, is not to another. The moral panic over library books is manufactured and distracts from actual pressing issues students, parents and teachers face. Libraries are not stocking Penthouse. But a kid can find it easily on their phone or laptop. If parents are opposed to their children learning about other religions, cultures, religion and lives, then they should homeschool. The world is a rich, wide breadth and depth of humans, and public education should prepare students to value and understand them.
