General Information
Action Summary Specialty pharmaceuticals represent the fastest growing segment of the prescription drug market in the U.S. Industry projections have the growth rate at 20% per year. Typically, these products are used to treat chronic and/or rare diseases, are high-cost, and can be administered by injection, infusion inhalation, or orally. DMAS is promulgating this regulation in an effort to help contain the costs of these complex and expensive drugs.
