Funding for gifted programs in public education is essential. It supplies children with a learning environment which encourages growth. It is as important as ESL or special education. In the United States we pride ourselves on diversity. This should also apply to our public school funding. Children of all abilies need to be catered to, and those on each end of the bell curve for learning should not be ignored.
