LRI

Having LRIs as paid caregivers has provided stability and security for our child. He no longer faces the stress of dealing with unfamiliar caregivers and an inconsistent schedule. Moreover, our family is relieved from the burden of disclosing sensitive details about his diagnosis, hoping that strangers will understand or at least refrain from judgment. We respectfully ask that Objective Written Documentation requirements be removed, and LRIs remain eligible for paid caregiver roles without needing to justify the challenges of finding low-paid, benefit-less workers. Offering respite for unpaid LRI caregivers would be a significant support to families, allowing them some relief when they can find short-term help for their loved ones with disabilities.
