Professional licensing boards in each state and territory have the unique responsibility of protecting the public health, safety, and welfare of their citizens by establishing the standards necessary for practice. The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is the non-profit association whose members are the 55 state and territorial licensing boards that regulate the practice of architecture. Licensed architects across the country work collaboratively with professionals in the other design fields and we recognize the rigor behind their credentials and appreciate their roles in contributing to the health, safety and welfare of the public.
