As I read the definition of "direct supervision", it means a licensee who is responsible for compliance with the proposed regulations for an unlicensed person to perform work that would otherwise require a license.
How can a person supervise the work of someone who by rule (ie the proposed regulations) cannot do such work without having a license?
I think DPOR should change this definition somehow. Either people who are unlicensed can do the work or they can't. If they can't, then having a direct supervisor doesn't make sense to me.
To make this definition work, DPOR needs to create a category of "In-training", and allow someone a license to perform the work under the direct supervision of a licensee until they qualify to sit for the tests. Instead of "conventional" and "alternative", how about using the terms "In-training" and "Licensed."
