This exclusive proposal denies access to highly educated and experienced clinicians. CACREP requirements in no way produce a higher quality clinician. It does put seasoned professionals out of business and reduce the number of qualified healthcare providers greatly. There is already a shortage of qualified providers for the current need. (the majority of materials being taught are largely developed by non-CACREP professionals). It is ridiculous to believe that my 3+ years of graduate study, 18 years of experience, CE's through workshops and seminars would not allow me the status of LPC with the rights granted through that qualification? Why would a program increasing unemployment even be considered? Perhaps every attorney, psychologist, physician, etc should be required to have matriculated from an Ivy league graduate program to be seen as a qualified professional and allowed to practice their profession?
Are the Teamsters behind this CACREP movement by any chance?
Stop the madness!!
