I have a M.S. degree in clinical psychology and have been practicing for over 14 years. The notion that only those who graduated from CACREP programs being the only clinitians allowed to practice is absurd. After reviewing the material for the CACREP eqivalency exam I do not see any noticeable difference with that taught in my graduate program. I am credentialed with all of the commercial insurance carriers, and have been for years. Can all of their requirements be that substandard? I don't think so. Finally, to have been licensed to practice in Maryland for these many years, then to be told I can't is insane.
