I do not believe that assistants should gain the right to scale!  there are different levels and positions in jobs for a reason! Assistants are assistants, they ASSIST the dentist and hygienst.  BOTH the dds & hygienist go to an accredited school to excel in SCRD.  As a student hygienst, SCRD is top priority and this is what we learn and are tested on in the 2 years so when we get in the real world, we will work wonders. SCRD is our job and I do not agree with letting assistants scale.  There has to be a limit! If assistants want to scale, tell them to apply for a dental hygiene program! there has to be a set standard and to draw the line!
