I advocate strongly for the removal of Objective Written Documentation. As a live-in caregiver, I understand how challenging it is to find trustworthy external care. We have tried and failed to hire reliable attendants, only to be met with individuals who don’t show up, leave early, or are more engaged with their phones than with our loved ones. This ongoing struggle forces us to take on the caregiving role ourselves. Like any family, we want what is best for our loved ones—consistent and reliable care. When this cannot be secured outside the home, we step up. Objective Written Documentation only adds unnecessary bureaucracy, creating additional barriers for live-in caregivers who are already fulfilling critical roles. It should be removed.
