Remove OWD

I am a strong proponent of removing Objective Written Documentation. As a live-in caregiver, I know firsthand how difficult it is to secure consistent care for a loved one. We’ve been through the cycle of unreliable attendants—those who fail to show, leave early, or disengage. This struggle to find competent care outside the home leaves us with no alternative but to take on the role ourselves. Our goal, like any family’s, is to ensure that our loved ones receive the best care possible. When we can’t find that outside the home, we provide it ourselves. Objective Written Documentation only serves as an additional hurdle, punishing live-in caregivers who step up to meet the needs of their family members. It is an unnecessary burden that should be removed.
