| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing to receive comments on the proposed adoption of 9VAC5-540 - Emergency General Geenral Permit. The purpose of the proposed regulation is to provide a streamlined process for permitting the construction or modification and operation of emergency generation sources during ISO-declared emergencies such that the emissions from the units in no way endanger the public health. The proposed general permit contains terms and conditions as may be necessary to form the legally enforceable basis for the implementation of all regulatory and statutory requirements applicable to new or modified emissions units that meet the requirements of emergency generation sources as required in ยง10.1-1307.02 B of the Code of Virginia. Such sources are stationary internal combustion engines that operate according to the procedures in the ISO's emergency operations manual during an ISO-declared emergency. The public comment periods begins on January 31, 2011 and ends on April 4, 2011. | ||
