Thank you for this regulatory effort to protect the sole source aquifer of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Continual large volume withdrawals from the deeper aquifers will degrade the drinking water supplies for the community and cause subsidence and saltwater intrusion. This regulation is necessary in order to better utilize the surficial aquifer to reduce pressure on the deeper aquifers.
