No to SEL

Items outlined in the SEL should be taught by parents and at home.  These skills are practiced and reinforced through children’s participation in church, sports, scouts, and numerous extra curricular opportunities available to youth. Also, if SEL is taught during school where will that time be taken from? Which subject(s) will have to give time up for SEL?  I repeatedly hear there are not enough hours in the day to teach what is required for the core subjects.  Public school systems should focus on core subjects (reading, writing, math, history, science and  english) not SEL.
