VCCA supports having someone onsite who is certified in CPR and First Aid. The CCDBG allows for state flexibility on determining how many individuals are needed to be responsible for obtaining this level of certification.
Not everyone is comfortable performing first aid and/or CPR. We believe that 50% as it is currently regulated is MORE THAN ENOUGH to handle the daily first aid situations and in rare cases CPR. To not place even more burden on a currently stressed workforce we suggest keeping first aid and CPR at 50% as is currently written.
