VCCA supports bringing more qualified directors into the child care workforce, however the industry is at a critical time trying to find candidates to meet current regulations.

Now is not the time to increase qualification requirements. What is needed is even greater flexibility and understanding of the struggles taking place to recruit and maintain directors and teachers. There has never been a more challenging time in our history than now. 

Increasing restrictions in this area shows a great disconnect between those trying to regulate child care and the reality of the field. We suggest that this section remain the same for the foreseeable future. We are in crisis!
