Having visited and worked in 3rd world countries that are extremely prejudiced to foreigners and oppressive to their citizens: I am convinced that they only way for the innocent ones - the children - to break the cycle of corruption and abuse is through meaningful education. Reading, writing, math, science, history, civics. Fundamental truths are what public schools need to emphasize, not unproven emotional, theoretical propaganda (I have also lived in a country that instigated 2 wars because they were fueled by similar rhetoric.)

Public schools are failing: and SEL, etc. is not the solution. Focus on preserving the innocence of our children and teaching them truths and using resolve and discipline in the classrooms to promote social skills.

This is America! Let's remember that individuality is our strength and living with integrity and respect for and dignity toward others is paramount to promoting our values. Make school a place where American children can learn to be Americans!!
