I support this regulation because of its intent. I believe that the 5Cs (critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and citizenship), as well as the other contributing character and skill building purposes of SEL are essential to a positive and productive learning environment. These teachings are work to build good moral characters and are positive mental health components to all being educated through our school system. The effects of the SELs help to bridge gaps in our communities. While learning and adjusting new things may be hard for some, it has a tremendous impact on the greater good of all involved. We need to begin doing things for the greater good, not pride and ego.
