We are totally opposed to the proposed SEL standards, and anything similar to them. We have public school students who can't read a book without pictures (graphic novels), can't do basic math without an electronic device and some sort of emotional crutch, can't balance a checkbook, have no concept of American history, aren't allowed to play competitive games, and can't even decide if they are boys or girls. This a generation of students who can't think for themselves, and you are proposing to influence their ability to relate to other people through "social emotional learning"??? 

This is flawed, socialistic ideology being pushed on students and parents. It is an invasion of privacy of the family. It is wrong. Please do not put these "standards" in our schools.
