SEL goes incredibly too far. Identifying emotions, strengths, and interests are one thing. Being able to be collective in thought and action is wholly another. Creating group think and a standardized way of thinking and acting is not the role of government schooling. Children and adults are individuals. I fear Virginia DOE and this SEL thinks otherwise, to the detriment of both.
