No to SEL and CRT. The children of the United States, as a group, continue to decline in Reading, Math and Science scores. This decline in education makes our young people less competitive in the work force and less competent in daily living. We need to allow teachers to focus on the basics of education, and we need to allow parents to parent their children. Teachers cannot be parents, and it is overwhelming to them to burden them with those responsibilites. By indoctrinating children, rather than educating them, we will actually increase the educational divide and put those most vulnerable at a disadvantage. The most affluent will be able to take their children out of the system that fails to educate. We need to have expectations for achievement instead of expectations for failure and victimhood. We need to give our kids tangible tools to excel rather than an ideology that has no practical value. We need to focus on what works instead of failure. Lowering the standards for everyone in the name of diversity harms the children that need it the most. Let's get back to the basics.
