Dear Sir or Madam or Council et al

We are opposed to the objectives stated within the SEL outline.  As witnessed in or institutions today, the ideologies of critical race theory create marginalization of races and division.  In fact, CRT does not even meet the stated objectives you would like to achieve.  Because of this, it causes great concern that an institution is trying to define "what is good" "what is equitable" "what is fair" based on fundamental principles steeped in humanism, which is greatly flawed.

The proposed objectives in SEL will create the foundation to Group think.  This goes against the VDOE's vision...your vision which states:  "The vision of the Virginia Department of Education is that Virginia will maximize the potential of all learners".  Group think replaces freedom of thought and critical thinking skills.  Furthermore, as witnessed in history, Group think and/or echo chambers create a dangerous society in which totalitarian states thrive.  

I am prayerfully asking that you reconsider your approach and position in partnering with parents in their children's education by dismissing the proposed SEL programming.
