Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Opposed to the proposed draft of transgender policies.

With our tax dollars, FCPS wants to:
  • Force Christian to use false pronouns, or face discipline.  No person should be forced to swear or affirm the monstrous falsehood that children can be born in the wrong body. No Christian should be forced to deny God's purposeful design of male and female -- that's a denial of God Himself! This is a radical violation of religious freedom and freedom of conscience.
  • Secretly affirm and facilitate a child's gender "transition" while at school! No notice to parents! This puts school administrators between a suffering child and his mother. This is designed to make children distrust and fear their parents. This is child abuse.
  • Parents who don't "affirm" that their child is in the wrong body can be reported to Child Protective Services! It's Nazi time.
There are NO accommodations for religious families who do not want to participate in this. There are NO exceptions for religious or conscientious objections.

We require that religious rights and deeply held beliefs be respected.
We are concerned about a redefinition of reproductive organs as "a cluster of physical and anatomical features" ... how will this apply to sexual assault? Will we not recategorize sexual assault  as simply assault since that area of the human anatomy is considered only to be a cluster of physical and anatomical features no more prone to trauma than any other set of organs?
