Oppose Action 5582

I strongly oppose the proposed action to make the lack of a postmark or illegible postmark an immaterial omission.

Balloting by mail presents a greater risk of fraud, due to potential issues with chain of custody. A ballot lacking a postmark, or lacking a legible postmark, may well be fraudulent, and should be subject to greater scrutiny than a ballot with no such issues.

Weakening protections against voting fraud has the potential to disenfranchise those of us who vote in person, and in a timely fashion.

Again, I strongly oppose any such action on the part of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
