This was written with no consideration for the cost to small business in terms of administrative burden, and lost productivity.  It further hobbles small businesses that are already struggling to survive.

It is a blanket solution that encompassses a mind-boggling variety of business and work situations.I don’t think I could independently determine if my businesses are initially in compliance and if they stay that way.

What evidence is there that creating this regulatory environment will have ANY beneficial impact? It is regulation for regulation's sake.

It’s a real opportunity for a VOSH inspector to turn a disgruntled employee’s complaint or a “drop-in” inspection into a $13,000 fine. Maybe that’s what it’s all about.  Reminds you of the sales tax issue.  I didn’t see a schedule of lesser fines for minor infractions, so let’s just go with the 13K.  The irony is that offenders will probably pay the fine with the Federal EIDL money they got - from a branch of government that is at least trying to help us.

The fact that the words were put on paper by Richmond bureaucrats tells me it is going to happen.  I can’t envision comments on the DOLI website will sway our leaders.  Our only hope is the ballot box.

They mention a 6-month cancellation date, unless…  It will have a life of its own. And they have a lot of other communicable diseases they need to regulate, I’m sure.

My son and his wife spend 50-60 hours per week managing our two shops in an environment that none of us would have imagined six months ago.  Where will they get the extra time and money to establish and maintain the training and workplace practices required to comply with this?

Leave us alone and have some faith that we have the best interests of our employees  and customers at heart, because we know it is in OUR best interest personally and for business purposes.
