Vet Tech

Dear VA State Board,

I have worked in veterinary medicine for about 18 years now and in that time I have been able to observe many medical procedures, emergency situations, and routine veterinary care.  I myself have had several pets throughout my life and would like to express that I would entrust my "children's" care to the medical staff/technicians that have spend their working career learning how to best care for our beloved pets, most of which do not hold a vet technician license.  It has been my observation that those trained over the years with hands on experience are in fact better at the real life situations that occur in veterinary medicine on a daily bases. then those out of vet tech school.  To limit the procedures a trained vet nurse can preform under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian would be a great disservice to the veterinary profession and would put our beloved pets at a disadvantage.

Regards,

Pet Loving Parent
