I support the change in regulations to allow trained assistants to place IV catheters.

Our numerous highly valued LVTs have many technical responsibilities that allow us to provide quality patient care.   Proper placement of IV catheters while extremely important is a task that can be accomplished by trained staff thus enabling our LVTs to spend their time performing other task that non credentialed individuals are not able to perform (patient evaluation, drug dosage calculation, administering medications, accurate intelligent client communication etc.)
