I support the petition to allow assistants to place IVC's.  However, just because I agree with this petition does not mean that I would entrust or allow every assistant to perform this task- there are plenty of assistants who I do not feel are capable of this, at least at this time.  Overall, I feel that it should be at the discretion of the veterinarian who they allow to perform this task, but they should not have to worry about breaking the law if they trust and could use the help of an assistant placing an IVC.
