IV catheter placement by trained assistants

I

I support trained assistants to place IV catheters.  This has the potential to raise standards of care in a lot of areas.   Places the responsibility on the vets to pick the right assistants, and make sure they are well trained.  This does not take away from the well trained LVTs.   This allows them to do more in other areas, and if our profession will rise to this occasion, we can pay our LVTs better so this can be a career good people can financially stay in.
