Licensed veterinary technicians have taken the time to go through extensive training in the nursing of animals  I believe that if one is willing to go through school to learn the ins and outs of veterinary nursing they tend to be more cautious about their tasks since they know the ins and outs of what can happen if they do not perform a task properly. It takes practice to be good at placing of iv catheters and special caution to make sure the site stays as sterile as possible while placing as well as not harming the patient in any way. I feel this is  disservice to the client to have a non licensed person placing semi permanent objects in the vein of An animal
