This proposal is a step backwards for patient care. We went to school and got the proper education and training because we want the best for our clients and patients. Cutting corners on hiring the proper personnel could lead to dangerous and life threating issues with patients. Having people trained without a standard of learning is risky and can lead to careless errors due to inconsistencies. Being trained and being educated are two completely different things. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable letting "a nurse" who walked off the street 3 years ago who had no formal education but was trained on the job placing an IVC or preforming any procedure for that matter on me. Invest in your employees, get them the proper education, do right by your patients and your clients. It's that simple.
