I strongly oppose this regulation!

I strongly oppose this regulation for several reasons.

  1. Why was a state emergency declared in the first place? What emergency? What problem was there that this was supposed to have solved? There have been no shootings in Virginia state agency buildings.
  2. The Governor has not been given authority from the General Assembly to ban guns in state agency buildings. If fact, this year the General Assembly passed a bill clarifying that the Governor can not do so. Surprise, surprise! The bill did not become law because the Governor vetoed it!
  3. What we DON'T need in this state are more gun-free zones. Since 1960, all but two of the public mass shootings have been in gun-free zones, just like this regulation creates, making our state-agency buildings less secure than before.
