Many of us commented during the previous comment period expressing the immediate need for there to be explicit consent of pet owners where veterinary students will be performing procedures on our pets.  Yet the comments seemed largely disregarded by the legislature, as the regulations still do not include any requirement for explicit and specific written consent on the part of the pet owners.  

As such, it is clear that we need another comment period, allowing constituents to reconvey to our representatives the importance of explicit written owner consent where vet students will be performing procedures on our pets.  This new comment period will restart the process, and afford our representatives the needed opportunity to hear and heed the opinions of their constituents.
