Great point, Tabatha! I haven't heard or seen anything like it. We forget that we had to go through a "vetting process" to even get in to a hygiene school. The great majority of us had to apply and be tested for our dexterity and beat out dozens, sometimes hundreds of other applicants and most often have already had to have college under our belt before even going to hygiene school. Assistants are great and to a yeoman job, but they go through no such scrutiny before becoming assistants. Just like dentists, we are the cream of the crop. We have to be, we treat patients.
