In this day and age when we all know that periodontal disease is a risk factor in cardiac disease, diabetes and more, why in heavens name, would we want to entrust the health care of the patients we profess to care about to people who are unprepared to recognize it. Todays Class I is not necessarily a Class I on another day.  Why demand education and fulfillment of requirements for licensing if in the end it means nothing.
