I feel as a Hygienist the several Dentist that are for DAII scaling are in it for the monetary benefits. They don't see the long term damage the are causing to the patients. I have seen the damage assistants can do to patients when they scale. The patients are lucky if they just have gingivitis. I am afraid the dentist will use any assistant (not CDA) if thebDAII are allowed to scale. Hygienist have been Educated in several areas such as periodontic, through Charting and Documentation, and scaling technique(intrumentation) just to name a few areas we have been trained in. I hope the BOD will Say no to the DAII Scaling Teeth and endangering patients health.
