I would like to voice my concern over the idea of dental assistants being permitted to scale teeth and otherwise perform hygiene duties. My opinion is that this is a bad idea. Without proper training and education the liability issues here are obvious. This concept is insulting to the hygienists that have invested their time to become PROPERLY trained.
