Dear Board of Dentistry,

I do not think that this code about assisting should be passed.  Hygiene students have to go to school for 3 years on top of pre dental hygiene classes to learn the art of scaling and polishing.  We learn this in school for a reason.  Assistants should not get to do what hygienist do.  There is a difference between the two and this should be addressed.  Why would any student become an hygienist if assistants are taking over the jobs in which they do.  I only this this should be passed unless the ADHP is in full effect.
