It is not in the best interest of the public to have dental asistance with minimal training working on patients.
It is not in the best interest of dental hygienist that are licensed to have their ability to support their families jeopordized by adding additional personal to their occupation. We already have more dental hygienist graduating each year than dentists. They work VERY hard for at least two years to be licensed.
Why is it necessary to open the public to this risk? They are not being underserved by dental hygienists. Who will determine which patients qualify to be treated by a dental assistant. As a dental professional, I know the health of the oral cavity can change between check ups. Do you make an appointment with a dental assistant or dental hygienist.
Why are we educated, tested and licensed if it can all be taken away?
