It is totally irresponsible to allow dental assistants to scale teeth. They maybe trained but cannot recognize cases beyond their expertise. This sure would not meet the Standard of Care and the patients would not recognize that they have not received proper treatment. To some it is an economic issue instead of providing quality service to the patient.
