I strongly opppose scaling being preformed by a Dental Assistant of any classification.

Why lower the Standard of Care for the general  public in the state of Virginia?

Dental patients are entitled to have the best oral health care provided to them by a licensed, Registered Dental Hygienist.  This is an educated clinician who promotes oral health while also encouraging total health for the control of oral diseases.  The residents of Virginia are accustomed to this optimal level of care.

Dental Assistants are an essential part of the dental team by assisting the dentist or hygienist.

Again, I strongly oppose the duty of scaling being delegated by a Dental Assistant of any classification.
