As a patient i do not want a dental assistant cleaning my teeth, I feel our overall health would be at risk,  When patients hear that a dental assistant  will be cleaning there teeth, red flags we flash and i feel the patient will move to another office that has dental hyg. and ifa dentist is that worried about saving a dollar and put there pt overall periodontal health at risk, that is not following Standard of Care and they should not be able to practice.
