NO NO NO to DA II Scaling

By allowing Dental Assistants to scale you will be fraudulant to the insurance companies who are paying for it.  I can scrape what I see in a mirror at home.  What is the difference then if an assistant does it?  The difference is, they are going to charge full price for it, and I will not have recieved the care I was seeking.  I want someone to do a thorough cleaning and examination.  By not providing the best care, dentist will be vulnerable to more lawsuits and insurance companies will start paying less since they know that less is being provided.

These dentist who are supporting this kind of treatment should really be investigated themselves.  Cutting corners to increase profit is disgraceful. Regulations were put into place for a reason.  Hygienist go to school, pass board examinations and stay current with licensure requirements.  I refuse to let someone who is not a trained, licensed Hygienist  clean my teeth.  Please consider what is in the best interest of patients like me.
