I SAY NO TO DA II ASSISTANTS SCALING!!!!  As a student I have been working my butt off for the past year and a half and for what?? So a dental assistant can "do" what I have been training and studying to do?  If a dental assistant wants to scale teeth they need to go to dental hygiene school!  I worked in private practice as a dental assistant and after attending DH classes there is no way I could have ever been comfortable scaling patients teeth knowing what I know now.  We CANNOT lower our standards of care, not now NOT EVER!!!  SAY NO TO DAII ASSISTANTS SCALING!
