After being informed of possibily what my new duties as an assistant would be I deeply opposed these responsibilities.  What kind of liability would I be to a practice?  Would I have to take out an insurance policy on myself?    Who do I practice on and the most important question: Are patients getting the best care? How do I know they are being scaled as well as a hygienist that has gone to school compared to me that would have a "quick" course.  And what doctor is goingto make the time to supervise me to make sure there are no screw ups?  They don't even check the hygienist that they have hired to make sure the patient is being scaled sufficiently.  If a doctor wants me to scale patients then send me school if not, forget it!!  Find another dummy
