Are we really ready to provide substandard care to the dental community? And do you really think by having an assistant attend a few classes on scaling and mandating they are to stay supragingival once they are "certified" you will be protecting the patient. I could have sworn my oath stated do no harm. Guess we no longer care about that aspect of our profession. Sure sounds more like a way to save a buck than provide quality care for rural areas. Shame on the dental community for contemplating substandard educated individuals as their healthcare providers.
