I strongly oppose dental assistant's right to scale teeth. Prior to attending dental hygiene school I was an dental assiasant in the United States Air Force where I was TRAINED to scale teeth, my training consisted of a wookbook on instuments and supervised scaling. At the time it was FUN. I had no idea what I was doing, after my dental hygiene education I was embarrassed to admit the injustice I was doing to my patients. This is HEALTHCARE, I think our patients deserve to be treated my EDUCATED DENTAL HYGIENISTS.
