I strongly oppose scaling  by a dental asssistant.  I was a certified dental assistant for 18 years pior to becoming a dental hygienist and know from experience that dental assistants do NOT have the knowledge to perform this duty. To allow this procedure would place public oral health at a great risk. Please vote against this regulatory action.
