DAII allowed to scale???

I think it is ridiculous that anyone, especially Dentists support this at all in any kind of way.  I think it is lowering the quality care of the patients and pretty much letting money dictate what kind of care our patients need.  I think this is ridiculous and I am surprised that any dentist would support this knowing the seriousness of periodontal disease and other gum related issues.  This is not only bad for our patients but also bad for the practice because if a patient has a 4 or 5 mm pocket  the patient is going to be charged for the cleaning that was not thorough and have to come back to access those areas.  This will take up more time in the schedule and then are they going to be charged for the second visit?  This makes no sense.  I work for a busy office and our patients are scheduled out completly for 6 months where can you find the time in the schedule to fit another patient who should have been cleaned thoroughly the first time they came in.  It is inconvienant for the patient and for the office.  I don't understand why any dentist would want this for their practice.

I don't know about all the other hygienist but I am really offended by this proposal.  I have worked very hard to get where I am at right now and I take pride in what I do.  My number one focus is my patients and how I can give them the best care possibly.  I feel that you need the proper training to do so and your not going to get that kind of training in such a short period of time.  Please!!! Please!!! do not support this proposal or the quality of the dental profession will go down.
