I am opposed to any dental assistant cleaning my teeth in place of a dental hygienist.  Good dental health is important to overall health.  When I go to the Dentist for routine cleaning, I am expecting a Board Ceritified Dental Hygienist.  I know that the hygienist is professionally trained in cleaning and detecting any problems.  The Dentist only sees me for a short period of time and is up dated by the hygienist on any concerns.  I find it hard to believe that a Dentist would allow a dental assistant to replace a Hygienist.  I find it very sad that my personal health is in jeopardy by this possible legistration.  Ann Ferro
